Meet-N-Greet the Coaches (Parent and Athlete
Open House)
Parents and athletes are invited to either of two Meet-N-Greet open house dates
where you'll receive information on our program, meet the coaches for each of
the age divisions, ask questions and get to know the LoneStar club family.

There is no pre-registration required for the Meet-N-Greet as it is open to the
public.
Pre-Season Clinics
Athletes are invited to our pre-season clinics to train with the LoneStar
Volleyball Club coaches that will be coaching their age division.
Clinic Format:
Beginning at 7:15p athletes will have an opportunity to spend an hour on the
court training with the coaches that will be coaching the club teams for their
age division.
At 8:15p, we will create a private setting where each coach will talk to the
athletes and parents of their age division.
The coaches will take this time to discuss their background and talk
about their goals and philosophies and also answer any questions.
We want to give the athletes and their parents a chance to really get to
know their potential future coaches of LoneStar Volleyball Club.

Cancellations – There will be a $10 fee applied to all cancellations.

Tryout
Information (Updated 10/30)
LoneStar Volleyball Club will be holding tryouts for all positions for 10
through 15 years. There will be 2
tryout dates in each age division.
Athletes must attend at least one tryout date in their age division, however, we
recommend they attend both tryout dates offered.

tryout fee is a one-time fee that is applicable to tryouts only.

Tryout Registration Instructions
Registration for club tryouts can be a bit overwhelming.
We have detailed here the steps that are necessary to register your
athlete for tryouts with the North Texas Region of USA Volleyball and with
LoneStarVBC. There are 2
registration systems to enter player information.

Pre-Season Clinics and Tryouts

Register with North Texas Region of USA
Volleyball for Tryouts
(Required)
Junior athletes
MUST be registered and recorded as paid prior to attending any tryout, practice
or sanctioned event.
Registration begins October 1st.

Once the region office
has received fees, they will update the record to reflect payment. Parents will
receive an automated email stating their athlete is a member.
Parents should print that email and take to tryouts or they may log
in and print a membership card.

Volleyball Junior Olympic Age Definitions
For use during the 2008-2009 Season
For eligibility purposes, a player who has just completed a grade in the Spring
of 2008 will be considered in that grade just completed. Players need not be
currently enrolled in high school except as noted below.
Once a player participates in a club or varsity program for any university,
college, community college, or junior college, he/she is ineligible to play in
any regional or national JOVC qualifying and championship events.
15 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993 - 09/01/93 to 08/31/94
14 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1994 - 09/01/94 to 08/31/95
13 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1995 - 09/01/95 to 08/31/96
12 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996 - 09/01/96 to 08/31/97
10 & 11 LoneStar Preparatory Division
- 09/01/97 to 08/31/99
Note: These age definitions are used by domestic club programs and are NOT the
same as the age definitions for the International and Domestic High Performance
programs for 2009.
The classification cut-off date of the September 1 was reviewed by the USAV
Youth/Junior Olympic Volleyball Division (YJOVD) prior to the USAV 2008 Annual
Meetings and research justified the continuation of the cut-off date of
September 1. Additional information can be found on the USA Volleyball Website.
The Age Definition Policy was most recently revised by the USA Volleyball
Board of Directors on January 19, 2002. Revised 08/08/2008
What to Expect at Tryouts
You will need the
following for tryouts:

Proof of paid USA
Volleyball registration (membership card)
•
North Texas Region Medical Form
•
LoneStar Player
Registration Form (if you did not pre-register)
•
Tryout fee
What to do for registration and
tryouts:
1. If you have
pre-registered, find the Pre-Registration table.
If you have not pre-registered, move to the Registration table.
2. Present required
documents and fee. All documents
will be checked for completeness and the age division will be verified.
You will receive your tryout number at this time.
3. Place the tryout
number on the front and back of your tee shirt where it can be seen.
4. Once the gym doors
open, ATHLETES ONLY will move into the gym and begin to warm up.
Parents will be invited into the gym to watch tryouts once the athletes
have gone through warm ups and the first drill set.
This will allow your athlete to settle into the group and become more
comfortable.
5. Additional details will be
provided once you’ve checked in.
