Introducing, the LoneStar Coaching Family
Jordan "Gigi" Jesberg
Hello! My name is Jordan Jesberg, and this is my second season with Lonestar. I was born and raised in Grapevine, Tx and have been around volleyball my whole life. When I was younger, my mom used to take me to her sand volleyball matches and I fell in love with the sport. Once I stepped on to the court for the first time, I knew that this was the sport for me.
I have been playing competitive volleyball 10 years under some of the best coaches one could imagine. I was a TAV kid my whole club career. While playing at TAV, I was part of some of the best teams in the country. During high school, I was a member of the Varsity team all four years playing libero and outside hitter. I loved smashing balls, but my heart and soul are in defense. After high school, I went off to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC to continue my career.
One of my favorite volleyball memories was during the championship match at the Northeast Qualifier during my 17s year. We were in the middle of a point, I dove into one of the nets separating the court and my active ankle got caught in the net. I tried to run back onto the court and got sling shotted back into the net 3 times. Finally, I managed to get out and help my team in securing the point. After the point was over, the referee walked over to me and handed me a joker card as if I did it on purpose. Everyone in the crowd was rolling laughing. Needless to say, I was mortified.
After my two year stent at Appalachian State, I transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University where I played for fellow LoneStar coach, Skip Freeman. It is through Skip that I became involved with the LoneStar community. Ever since I joined this wonderful club, I have felt like nothing short of family. Not just with the staff members, but with the other families that make up our lovely community. The comrodery and support from everyone sets LoneStar apart from any other program in the area.
